Scrapping is coming hard to me so far this year. I  see all this wonderful inspiration in the forums & on blogs & then I open up my software and…

Nothing.

I’ve got nothing. Over and over again. I have been regularly dissatisfied with my scrapping efforts for months now but every now & then I do manage to pull something off I like

This was inspired by my Girlie Moments post a week or so ago.

The kit is a new one by Eva Kipler (I am on her CT team and she has been amazingly patient with my lack of mojo lately) & Kate Hadfield. It’s called Me, Myself & I and is available at Scrap Matters

I’ve not been feeling the scrapping mojo much this month but I did manage to get these two done this week from prompts for shimelle’s Blogging for Scrapbookers class.

The little tags read “$60 spent for domain name” ($10 a year) and “including Iran, Egypt & Nigeria” (they were the countries that made me go “really?”)

The journaling is about how I am struggling with not taking photos everyday & considering restarting it for my birthday

I’ve really been lacking scrapping mojo the past month or so.

I’ve got a teeny bit obsessed with Jewel Quest Heritage, a match 3 game & it’s taken over my brain. Like I can’t put 3 identical cans of soup next to one another on a shelf for fear they will disappear as soon as they meet. I sit in traffic thinking “If that mini van ill just get over into that lane & then that truck slide back one it will match 6 cars and they will vanish& I’ll move up in the traffic.

I’m always slightly disappointed when the cars move that way & then don’t disappear.

I’ve managed about 3 layouts in the past month & they are not my best work I think. This one the title didn’t quite work out. It’s ok, but not quite the look I was going for.

Same with this one. It is close to what I had in mind when I started but is not exactly it

And this one I did yesterday. Again, 95% is what I was trying to do but that last 5% I just couldn’t quite pull off

I think I need to go back to templates. These were all free form. I’ve been trying to do more free form stuff but I think I am just better with a template framework I can tweek around to my specs.

I’ve been busy this week. I scrapped 16 layouts!

That more than I scrapped in all of November & October combined!

And some of them were actually Journal Your Christmas layouts! I now have 7.65 layouts done out of 17 prompts. Woohoo!

I’ve had a hard time scrapping much since school got out, what with DH not being home much & the boys underfoot constantly & then going on vacation twice. But this week I was able to sit down and get some work done.

I didn’t do much scrapping in May. I lacked time & motivation but I am getting back into it this month.

Album layouts

I am slowly working on scrapping a “Life Lessons” album. I have no idea how many pages it will be when done but when the mood, a quote or challenge prompts, hit me, I make some pages.

I have 5 so far, though I can’t seem to find #2 on my hard drive

 

Sweet Shoppe Designs challenges this month prompted lessons 4 & 5 and will probably lead to at least 3 more if I can get to them. I’d like to do about 25 or so and get them made into a bound book. I’m bad with themes but I have enough quotes and things that it is certainly do-able & if it takes me a couple years to finish it, that’s ok too.

My mojo seems to have disappeared this week though so I have no gotten any layouts done in a week or so.

Did some scrapping recently

After a 3 week hiatus I finally fell back in the scrapping groove & completed a few layouts over the past 10 days or so. These are all for challenges at Sweet Shoppe Designs

It feels good to  be scrapping again, but despite all the 365 photos I take I seem to be short photos to scrap. I’ve been focusing more on things than people lately with it and don’t have as many pics of the boys as I have in the past.  I need to work on that.

I’ve been so busy printing layouts and photos I have not done much scrapping lately.  Simply Scrapbooks had a sale superbowl weekend and that was when I realized I have not printed a darn thing, except my 365 photo books, since early 2007.

But I have done a few layouts I’ve done in the past month.

Journal Your Christmas final pages

I finished the 7th! Go me! I was running 3-4 days behind most of the month & sort of assumed it would be 15th or so before I started working on the cover. Which is fine and I actually did not mind that. But Monday I decided I wanted to get it wrapped up before Saturday. I start back to work next week & the kids have half days & 4 day weekend as well next week. So this is the last time I have all day to scrap. I managed 2-3 layouts a day & completed the front & back covers along with the last prompt on the 7th.

I think it may be a couple weeks or so before I feel like scrapping again. 

I always enjoy making the pages but am also so relieved when it is over. Don’t have to do *that* again for another year!

I have all the pages uploaded to VioVio & Inkubook. I just need to decide which I want to use. I’ve printed books with both of them in the past & the prices & quality are similar. Viovio is shinier paper. I suppose I’ll go with the first one with a decent coupon .
