Maybe I just have a dirty mind

Have you noticed the word verification for blog posts is getting a bit graphic?

About half the blogs I visit have word verfication you have type in to post. Lately they have been doing this fake out reload thing that makes me think it’s going to post so I move on to the next tab with the next blog and only as I am going back to close tabs do I see, momentarily as the tab closes, that what actually happened was the page reloaded with a word verification form to fill in. Only I’ve already closed the tab. So I go back into my history, reopen the tab, likely having to redo the comment, press post, wait for the reload and then I get the word verification form. It’s mildly irritating but what has been the saving point for me are the words that have been given to me:

LUST

FELLATIA

ERGASM

PENIAL

INTERLUDE

FORPLAY

ORVARY

SULTS

These are just a few of the ones I have seen this week. Last week the words all seemed to come from the posts themselves. If the post mentioned flowers the word would be FLOREL. If it was about soup the word would be BROTHS or CARRIT.

So when I started seeing this batch of words I was wondering if I was reading the same posts the word verification was.

Is it just me this happening too? What weird words have you had to enter for verification?

Good morning from SITS!

I've noticed the same thing - I'll even go back to my comment to comment on the word verification!

Interesting! I have seen several strange combinations but hadn't noticed a possible theme. I'll be watching now!

Stopping by from SITS.

I haven't noticed a theme, but now I am going to pay more attention to those annoying word verifications.

You are way too observate! And have a dirty mind! Funny, but dirty! :)

I definitely notice some weird ones. I have noticed lately that they do seem to me scrap/craft related. My favorite lately, though, was
fuctu!
Seriously.
BTW, I hate word verification. I took it off my blog and haven't had much spam trouble.

rofl!! No, I haven't had this problem - must just be you.... ;-) I do get some interesting and often strangely apt ones sometimes, though naturally my mind is completely blank right now so can't share any of them with you, sorry :-(

Hmmm, I haven't see these. Maybe it IS you! :D I'm going to start looking for themes now.

Well I can't think of any weird words that have come up. But I do find it very irritating to have that verification thing pop up after the reload... I don't know how many times I've closed the window before realizing that I need to do the verification before my comment will go through. And sometimes, I just don't have time to go back and find the blog and repost my comment. It's sad, and while I don't mind the verification process, I'd really like it to be on the same page to save me from closing the window early.

I hate captcha, so as soon as I leave the site I purge whatever I type from my mind.

However, I have noticed blogger getting more anglo-phonetic instead of purely random.

You are not the only one! I have noticed the same thing. Makes me wonder if mine is doing the same thing and if so how many comments I have lost because of it.

I don't think I've ever gotten "dirty" words, and a lot of the verifications I get do look like words, but not any I know. LOL

I haven't noticed any themes. I'll be watching now.

I've had some strange words, but not anything like yours... I took word verification off my blog and put on moderation for any comments on posts over 2 weeks old. That filters out the bulk of spam and bot comments. I've only had one get through on a current post that I went in and deleted as soon as I saw it.

Oh that makes sense. I hadn't noticed that...but I read a heartfelt post last week on a scrapper's blog and noticed the word was 'bless'.

:)

Those words are pretty graphic. The words that I get are more nonsensical.
